After Grant Balino put Traverse City West up 12-9 late in the fourth quarter with a three-yard touchdown run, Kenowa Hills responded with a 25 yard touchdown pass from quarterback Cody Ritsema to receiver Dylan Smith with under two minutes to play.
Then, with Traverse City West driving for the winning score, Kenowa Hills' Josh Fransted intercepted a pass to seal with win for the Knights.
"We got the ball with 1:30 to play, and our kids executed the two-minute offense well," Kenowa Hills coach Scott Van Essen said. "It wasn't easy, they had three linemen back and converted a lot of fourth downs on us.? We made a lot of mistakes, but we made the plays when we had to to pick up the win."
Casey Carruthers led Kenowa Hills in rushing with 80 yards on 14 carries, while Ritsema added 63 yards and a touchdown on nine carries.
Chase Dunneback made 12 tackles to lead the Kenowa Hills defense, and Zach Evans added two sacks.
