ANTIQUES ? CHRISTMAS PAST ? Carolina HeartStrings

There are some antiques and collectibles that I enjoy year-round as they are displayed or used in our home.? But there are some collectibles that only see the light of day a few weeks a year.? These are my old, treasured Christmas ornaments that get unwrapped and re-wrapped with utmost care annually.?? I thought I would share a few of them with you.

This is one of three vintage ?clusters? that I suspect may have adorned a wreath or a gift.

I love the attention to detail.

Each year they seem to get a little more fragile.

Does anyone say ?Yuletide? anymore?

This is the ONLY decoration I have from my mom?s side of the family.? It was hers when she was a little girl 100 years ago?.? Just kidding mom!

Love the early 1960s graphics on this stocking.?? (Yes, from when I was a little girl? age telling here?)

Wonder what Santa?s thinking?

The design makes this one of my favorite old ornaments.

Another favorite due to the great texture and color.

I bought this trio at a yard sale.?? They look like they contained something at one time. ? Perfume?? Small candies?? Does anyone know?

My father?s family had several of these cloth fruits that date from the early part of the 20^th century. ?When he was growing up they shared a house with another family so my grandmother put their name on some pieces to help keep track of them.

Finding this was the highlight of my decorating this year.? I had believed that this folding Santa and reindeer was lost.? Several years ago it did not turn up in my usual unpacking and I thought perhaps it had gotten tossed out.?? I was overjoyed to find it tucked in a small box labeled as another item (that I WAS about to toss out).?? As a child I loved opening and closing its accordion style base and was so very pleased to find it.
